WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION GLOBAL SOLUTIONS GROUP, WATER GLOBAL PRACTICE – GLOBAL POLICY, INSTITUTIONS, AND REGULATIONS (PIR) ASSESSMENTS

Review and assess the water supply and sanitation sector (WSS) in various countries, including reviewing current policies, institutions, and regulations. The assessments will provide the basis for considering possible ways for achieving better water and sanitation outcomes consistent with the sustainable development goals (SDG). Provide the World Bank with the evidence, insights, and knowledge necessary to have improved dialogue with countries on policy and institutional reforms on the global stage to achieve the SDGs.

  • Definition of key areas of assessment and methodology for the country.
  • Data aggregation and analysis using the WB Institution Diagnostic Tool (IDT).
  • Analysis of opportunities to drive effective policy dialogue and participatory processes in the Water and Sanitation Sector.
  • Identification of opportunities to improve PIR in the country.
  • Facilitation of working sessions: i) with local stakeholders to review reform options on-site; ii) with WB local office to review the operational plan prepared by the WB local office.
  • Development of reform options.
